winter solstice

One year, I will go to Paul Winter's solstice concert at St. John the Divine in NYC. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the longest night than listening to beautiful music in a beautiful setting.

We spent the first day of winter at our town's Christkindlmarkt My favorite exhibitors were the drum maker, Bob Shaeffer and his wood things, Kevin Smolark glass artisan, The Queeen's Treasures for American Girl doll clothing and Annie's Pooch Pops but my favorite was one green poppy whose etsy shop is emtpy right now because of the fair but assured me that she'll be restocking in a week or so. They used upcycled sweaters, organic cotton and hemp for fabric. Such really cute stuff! Best part is they (2 moms) are only about a mile away from me.

I'm in the thralls of school work and finishing holiday stuff here, so this post WILL be short.

Happy Winter solstice everyone.
