While reading Kristyn's blog,I was reminded of 10 on Tuesday, which I haven't done in forever. Yanowhatimean isn't doing it anymore but I found one here
1. If given the oppotunity, would you choose a mediocre job that paid well or your dream job that paid poorly?
Ideally, the latter.... realistically probably the former. Having 3 kids makes you change priorities.....
2. What is your favorite thing about the 4th of July? (For the foreigners: What is your impression of the 4th of July?)
Fireworks.. although the memory of making homemade vanilla icecream at my grandma's house ranks at the top... with freshly picked raspberries from her garden... ah!
3. What’s the most random fact you know about American history?
George Washington liked to dance. Learned it on the history channel last week while sitting in the dentist's office.
4. What is the best fireworks display you’ve ever seen?
Probably right here in my town. They do a bang up job! (pun intended)
5. Who taught you how to put on makeup?
Who said I know how now?
6. Have you ever gone through a financial planning process? Tell us about it.
Hmmmm not really
7. What was your favorite outfit as a kid? Bonus points for pictures.
I made this pink gauzy top and embroidered a rose on the front... really loved that thing.
8. Do you prefer a beach, lake, swimming pool, or no water?
beach hands down
9. Do you recycle? If not, why?
I wear the queen of recycling crown TYVM!
10. What are your thoughts and feelings about the Twilight Saga?
Not interested, except to impress my soon new to be JHS students LOL
Including, but not limited to musings on knitting and other crafts. With any luck, original patterns will also be posted.

- paramore..... that's what you get
- colbie caillat..... bubbly

10 ways to save $
this ten on Tuesday post is right up my alley:
FOOD
HOME ENERGY
ELECTRICITY
MISCELLANEOUS
There are so many more, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out my 10 on Tuesday meme friends to see what they came up with
FOOD
- Eat at HOME
- Pack your lunch instead of buying out
- Scan the weekly flier and plan menus around what's on sale
- Make a list for the grocery store and stick to it
- Only go grocery shopping once a week
- Cut coupons and USE THEM
- Buy in bulk whenever possible (if that indeed is cheaper)
HOME ENERGY
- Turn down your thermostat, especially when you aren't at home and when you are home, wear a sweater
- Wrap your water heater
- Have your furnace cleaned
- Check the seals on windows and doors
- Turn off the water while you brush your teeth
- Take shorter showers
- If it's yellow let it mellow, when it's brown flush it down
- Cook larger amounts (ie double) and freeze the second portion to reheat later
ELECTRICITY
- Turn out lights when you aren't in the room
- Unplug things that aren't being usedm ie TVs, DVDs, computer
MISCELLANEOUS
- Use your public library for books and recordings
- Buy you clothing at thrift shops, op shops or resale boutiques
- UPcycle as much as you are able (that means yarn too!)
- Before buying extra something wait a week or two, maybe you'll decide you don't need it after all
- Take public transportation, car pool or ride a bike if possible

10 Inventions That Have Made Life Easier
1. Computer
2. Midi keyboard - these for me are coupled together
3. Microwave
4. Cell phone and blue tooth
5. Cordless/speaker phone - pairs with the above as well
6. Self defrosting freezer/self cleaning oven
7. Digital Camera - wish I had a good one again
8. TIVO - not that I have it, but maybe I'd watch my favorite shows if I did
9. tilt-in windows -for the rare times I wash them!
10. weed whacker - no more blisters from the hand trimmer :-)
I'm on the handle of the Squatty Sidekick. I should not knit late at night. I spend more time frogging than knitting.
Today I stopped at the Salvation Army thrift store in Quakertown on my way home from my cousins funeral. I picked up a black sleeveless dress that is 55% linen and 45% rayon for $5. It's really long (which is a good thing) because after I got home and was showing my MIL, I noticed a hole in the back. I'll cut it and make a sleeveless tank and a skirt (or some such thing).
I also got this Cashmere sweater for $3 to frog and recycle the yarn. It's a Laura Ashley ladies size 8 so it would NEVER fit me... even when I was skinny. The side with the buttonholes I won't frog, but perhaps felt and cut to make a baby lovey. The rest I may dye, although I don't find the color obnoxious.. it's kind of a caucasian flesh tone.
The last purchase was a brand new 100% cotton white blouse for $4. I bought a white skirt not too long ago and this will really look nice with it.
There was no yarn nor needles to be had, but I think I fared well.
Off to pick up DD at her friend's house while DH takes DS1 to gymnastics.
